Our Story

The story behind Mind Matters Project is one of family, empathy, and a shared desire to make a difference. For Karina, Bella, and Sophie Bowles, the journey began with Bella's personal experience navigating depression. This opened our eyes to the often-silent struggles and the profound need for greater awareness and support. We realized that starting conversations about mental health can be challenging, and that tangible resources can help bridge that gap. That's why we're dedicated to crafting high-quality apparel designed to raise awareness, spark those crucial dialogues, and foster a community where both individuals facing mental illness and their loved ones feel supported and understood. Together, we believe we can break down stigma and create a more compassionate world.

Our logo: The Open Safety Pin

The open safety pin is more than just a symbol to us at Mind Matters Project. Just as a safety pin holds things together, it has become a widely recognized symbol of solidarity and support for those facing mental health challenges. For us, the open safety pin signifies a commitment to creating a safe and judgment-free space for conversations around mental well-being. As founders, we understand the struggle firsthand and live with its complexities. This project was born from our own journey, and through this symbol, we want every person who sees it, and every person who wears it, to know that they are not alone. It's our way of signaling that we are allies, here to offer unwavering support, foster understanding, and remind everyone that there is always hope.
